Live, Love, Laugh

Hello there,
I would like to share with you the December Mood Board for Dusty Attic
You can win a $100 gift voucher to the online store just by adding the link to your blog on their right hand sidebar on the DA Blog .
I loved the colours in this board and it reminded me of the flowers that where in bloom when Anthony and I got married, so off I went to find a wedding photo that showed some of them !

I have coated all of the chipboard in gold spray and then used the Dusty Attic crackle over the top to make it look aged.

Live, Love, Laugh Title  DA1376

I found some rub-ons that I had "stashed" away that I have used with Sandra Evertson's Relics and Artifacts heart. (it reminded me how much I LOVE using rub-ons and these added to the cluster behind the clock paper as well)
I punched here and there around the edge of the page and added some paper behind the ripped edges and lower bottom corner.  I then used the same paper with an epoxy heart shape and thin gold thread.

Lace Border #3  DA1344

The seed beads I have used in the border I also used around the outside of the resin heart.

Vintage Frame #3  DA1352

Ornate Pendants DA1359

The large blooms I sprayed with a mixture of Glimmer Mists to get the colour I wanted and then added Prima leaves and different roses and flowers.
So that's another wedding photo scrapped for the album (just 30 or so to go LOL)
Cant wait to see what you create with the mood board, thanks for popping by

Discover.....

Hiya everyone
Today I am sharing my take on the November Mood Board for Dusty Attic
I was inspired by the colours in the board - especially the Blues and yellowish orange

You can win a $100 Gift Voucher to the

All you have to do is add your link to your blog on the right hand side bar.

I started with the background and added the Splat stencil with the texture paste mixed with DA Paint Sunshine yellow with a touch of  Sunburnt orange

Sunshine DA0905

Sunburnt Orange DA0906

Texture Paste  DA1218
Stencils - Splat - DA1329

Then I used the Denim paint with the texture paste
(as the paste is white it makes the paint colour you use lighter) with the arrows stencil.
Then I dropped blotches of white gesso here and there

Denim DA0914

I used any left over texture paste and mixed it together to create the Green colour that I have used behind the Hot Air Balloon background
(and dry brushed a little gesso over it to show the texture)

The Blueprint Discover word and the Blueprint rocket where both painted and then I added some silver glitter over the top of portions of it to stand out, I also used a different colour paper behind the rocket.

Having the Orange straws behind the word makes it "pop", I also used micro beads to add extra texture to the background as well.

Dream....

I have many things that I love, Reindeer, Rocking Horses, Crowns, Fleur DeLis, Shabby anything, birds, bird cages, Wings and of corse along with birds comes feathers and butterflies and dragon flies !
(I even have a feathers tattoo around a dream catcher symbol on my thigh!)

So this layout pretty much sums up some of the things I love all in one creation !
This paper is just stunning and perfect for this photo that a gorgeous Jen Hall took at Camp Mojo !

I have used two pieces of the same sheet to 3D the butterflies and moths and I have used the back to matt my photo as well.

I started with adding Dusty Attic Chocolate paint to the new DA Texture Paste and using the Fan stencil added extra pattern and depth to the top and bottom corners and here and there over the entire page.

I then added doodling around the edges and different designs of washi tapes and triangles added around as well.

Mini tutorial on making your own feather pebbles :
Stick your feathers to the paper with double sided tape and place your clear pebble over the piece you want to use. Cut around the pebble and sand, then ink around the edges
Wha-Lah, done !

I have used the circle frame set as the dream catchers and wound wool around the edges. Gold thread and beads complete the web section of the Dream catcher

The feathers I have inked with a brown and golden green ink pads then used 13 Arts Gold Glitter paint and gold thread and beads to finish them off. These feather charms are some of my absolute favorites of Dusty Attics !

Feather Charm #4 DA1383

Behind the large dream catcher are craft feathers, white and brown mixed together, the photo is mounted using the back of the second piece of paper with some chipboard behind it to add height.

I have added Metal embellishments, the Crown and mini feathers with beads.

Lightly brushed the 13 Arts Gold glitter paint over the mini feathers and added a new bird design that allows you to have the background as anything you wish as they are two pieces where one sits on top of the other.

Doves DA1407

Tucked into the ripped edge Peep hole are some more fluffy craft feathers, with washi tape and another layered dove. I have added Liquid pearls to the paper as little dots randomly on the page, the wings and on the metal crown.

I used to do Paper Tole and love it when I can add other crafts I have learnt into my creations - hence why I usually get two or three pieces of the same paper, to make sure I have enough to 3D the main elements. Helmar "Liquid Scrap Dots" (LSD) is what I use to keep the wings up for the flying type of effect.
Thank you for joining me today

Seize the Day - Bo Bunny

I have used Bo Bunny Star Crossed papers which I fell in love with the second I saw them !! The colours, the feathers, the embellishment pack - Love Love Love and all so perfect for this photo shoot that we did in the "fairy mines" as Ky and Cadence call them
(Its actually a pine plantation with a footpath around it), I wish you could see this in "real life" as it is very very layered and quite high!

Black Soot DA 0925
I started with the diamond stencil background using  black crackle paint, then I have painted a lot of the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces with the Black Soot paint as well.

The hexagons I have used I have "popped" out of the Honeycomb Large and small panel pieces and covered them with the Bo Bunny papers
(small DA0740 Large DA0738)

Honeycomb DA0740 and DA0738

I have added red twine around the love heart arrows and around the focal circle made of the gold wire around the photograph, I made my own circle to use as a dream catcher type symbol with white embroidery thread and then wrapped fine gold thread across it, the tiny pegs I have painted gold along with the little diamonds you see there on the Mini Balloons (they are popped out of the trellis piece of chippy)
Heart Arrows #2 DA1026

Mini Trellis DA 1033

I love the view finders and have used both the large and mini size on this layout with Navaho white paint then used crackle gloss and rubbed it over the Dusty Attic Gold paint. The small view finder I just coloured with brown ink and then rubbed it back to make it rustic.

Mini View Finders DA1080 - Large View Finders DA 1081

The feathers that came in the ephemera pack I have dipped with gold glitter and bent them around to add dimension to them. The chipboard feathers I have left raw and but rubbed some gold paint over the top to match.

How gorgeous are the embellishments that match the papers? I love these stamps and they fit the Dusty Attic chippy perfectly

Postage Stamps DA0551

Arrow Border #1 DA1198

I have added arrows to the skewers at the top and wrapped with the same gold thread, the Mini Alphabet letters fit perfect on the card

Mini Alphabet Uppercase DA 0861

I had so much fun making this layout and I love it to bits (One of My favorites by far)
